I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July! Mine was low-key and sadly, BBQ-absent...but nonetheless celebrated with great people :).

happy easter!

Kind of late.. but happy Easter everybody! Jesus lives, what news to rejoice about! All life's troubles and difficulties seem to dim in the light of today's joy.  I also love that this season is the season for wild flowers everywhere and anywhere! I'm hoping to visit the flower fields in Carlsbad this month before it ends!

a big thank you

It's been such a stressful and busy few months -- transitioning between a bunch of schedules, life seasons and trials,  and so so many photos to edit. With that said, I'm so thankful for the opportunity God has given me to photograph such wonderful people and the special love they have for one another (couples and friends alike). I'm really very undeserving.

So, thank you readers and clients for your graciousness (those waiting for their photos lately!),  your individuality and your encouragement. Here's to the rest of 2011 being a fruitful year of growth and beautiful images to document.

I bought my first digital camera when I was 13 years old. I pooled together all the money I saved up from tutoring, babysitting and chinese new year red envelopes. I used to shoot everything in my neighborhood -- flowers, street lights, cars, etc. Flowers were a favorite because I felt like it was something you couldn't mess up -- shooting people was terrifying (and still is at times). Sometimes it's nice just to grab my camera and go around the neighborhood documenting the the beauty there.... no coordinators, no centerpieces, no spectacle.

like everyone, once a year i love daylight savings and one time a year i absolutely abhor it. i don't feel like celebrating when i have to wake up an hour earlier than my body is used to. but there are a lot of things to love too -- like it still being light out when you drive home from work. the way the light is around my home when it's as late as 7 at night is beautiful...

cleaning a bit today and just felt like snapping some shots. thought you all would enjoy them as well.



borders is closing out many of its stores...which means sales galore! this was the only book i could snatch up that looked remotely interesting in the pile of mess that was left on the shelves in the art section.

I never thought that one of my favorite things about being a professional photographer would be packaging! I always feel so satisfied sending stuff out in the mail. I guess since I'm a graphic designer, it comes with the territory :). The details and personal touches make me really happy.

Like I promised, this month's snaps!

knotts berry farm

You probably don't know this about me, but there is a special place in my heart for... Knott's Berry Farm. While other kids were begging to go to to Disneyland for their birthdays, I was completely satisfied (and preferred tenfold) going to Knotts Berry Farm.

I know there's something wrong with me because I convinced Tommy to take me there last week for our anniversary. You know how there are some things you should leave as a fond memory because re-experiencing them leaves a foul taste in your mouth? Yep, you guessed it. Knotts is not the same anymore.  Few people, closed rides and just the atmosphere of a ghost town left something to be desired. However, as with any moment I'm with T, he made it fun anyways :).
